Radical First Teaser Trailer for Marvel's THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER!
Marvel has unleashed the first teaser trailer for director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder! Chris Hemsworth is back in the role of the God of Thunder and he will embark on a personal journey to figure out who he is and live in the moment. The trailer comes with the tagline, “Not Every God Has a Plan,” and he’s looking at leaving his superheroing days behind him.
The trailer is filled with radical vibrant footage of Thor on his next journey and it heavily features members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The trailer is lighthearted and a lot of fun! There’s no real look at the main villain Gorr the Butcher, who is played by Christian Bale, but there is a quick teasing shot of Russell Crowe as Zeus.
The trailer also offers our first real look at Natalie Partman’s Jane Foster… as Mighty Thor! In the film, her life is forever changed when she mysteriously comes to possess the hammer Mjolnir… and the power of the Mighty Thor!
Jane Foster’s Thor story arc is based on Jason Aaron’s comic book run in The Mighty Thor, the story of which follows a cancer-stricken Jane Foster. Portman previously teased this storyline, saying:
"I can’t tell you that much. I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is. I’m trying to think — it’s based on the graphic novel of The Mighty Thor. She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side."
Thor: Love and Thunder also stars Tessa Thompson back in her role of Valkyrie; Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Dave Bautista and Drax, and Karen Gillan as Nebula.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently set to arrive in theaters on July 8th, 2022.
