Rainn Wilson and Adam McKay Make a GAME OF THRONES Parody Video For #ImWithScience Campaign
Director Adam McKay‘s non-profit Yellow Dot Studios has launched a #ImWithScience social media campaign, and over the past week, several videos have been released. The one video that’s gone viral stars The Office’s Rainn Wilson and it’s a parody of Game of Thrones.
The video is titled “A Tale of Fire and Ice,” and Wilson shows up as a climate scientist brought in from the future to warn the Westeros Court, consisting of Queen Cersai (Lena Headey), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) about the dangers of “Big Oil.”
Wilson said in a statement about these videos: “Science, like everything else these days has been grotesquely politicized. Climate catastrophe is the biggest test our crazy, fragile species has ever faced.”
McKay said in a statement: “Scientists don’t own TV News stations or have to ability to give televised speeches whenever they want. But what they’re trying to tell us needs to be amplified and understood. Don’t stand with big oil and their lobbying and advertising money. Stand with science.”
