Rami Malek and Aja Naomi King to Star in Season 2 of BLACKOUT

Deadline reports that Rami Malek will return for season two of the hit podcast Blackout from QCode. What’s more, Aja Naomi King (How To Get Away With Murder) is joining the cast. The series is co-directed by Jeremy Novick and Stef Abel Horowitz and created by Scott Controy who serves as executive producer alongside Malek.

Season two of the apocalyptic thriller will be released early this summer with Malek reprising his role of Simon Itani, a small-town radio DJ fighting to protect his family and community after the power grid goes down nationwide, upending modern civilization.

In addition, a TV series package is now in the works for Blackout. Chernin Entertainment, Endeavor Content, and QCode are currently working together on that. There isn’t any word if Malek is involved, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. You can listen to the first season of Blackout via most podcast services now.
