Rami Malek Only Watched One James Bond Film to Prepare for NO TIME TO DIE: DR. NO

A lot of fans are speculating that Rami Malek is playing Dr. No in the new James Bond film No Time To Die. His villainous character has been revealed to be a character named Safin, but during a recent interview with Total Film magazine, he teased that this character could end up being Dr, No.

When asked whether he was willing to shoot down any speculation of him playing the legendary Bond villain, he cryptically said, “I would never shoot something like that down. It’s intriguing.” He was then asked which Bond films he watched to prepare for his role and his answer was, “Only Dr. No.”

Now, he could be totally screwing with the fans, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s revealed that his character is actually Dr. No. No Time to Die director Cary Joji Fukunaga also talked about Malek’s character saying, “there’s a sense this guy could be from a large- scale chemical/pharmaceutical family,” and Safin is “someone who’s not necessarily a public face, but who wields a lot of power behind those people”.

Regardless of if there’s going to be a twist with this character, Safin is going to give Bond and run for his money.

The movie stars Daniel Craig as the secret agent, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q, with Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Christoph Waltz as Blofeld, and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter. New cast members include Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, David Dencik, and Lashana Lynch.

Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

The movie is now set to come out on November 25th!
