Ranking POWER RANGERS Themes Part 4 - Disney Era Part 2

We are now in the second half of the Disney era for Power Rangers theme songs. I’ve only watched through Power Rangers Overdrive, so after that one, I have no association of a theme song to a season. Sadly, two of the three songs left just aren’t that great.

Power Rangers Operation Overdrive

I really don’t like this theme song. The guitar riffs aren’t bad, but they’re not great and sadly, they’re the best part of the song. The vocalist does have some decent lyrics with some really random lines thrown in there. However, this song feels monotonous. There are maybe two different instrument parts, but no energy difference. They don’t even use this in the show for any occasion for crying out loud! They know that it sucks! This is the last song I would want playing during a fight scene.

Power Rangers Jungle Fury

It’s a jungle theme, so we need bongos. This song goes back to the pop rock feel and I think it goes over very well. The lyrics are really good for a Power Rangers song. The energy changes between the “verse” and the “chorus” to help it feel like an actual song and while not my favorite, it actually sounds like a decent fight song. A much needed improvement from the last few themes for sure.

Power Rangers RPM

I’m not a big fan of the spoken intro for the song taking roughly 15 seconds. I don’t think that should go at the beginning of the theme song for every episode. Mostly because then we get the same two lines repeated for the rest of the song. The instrumental break down is good, but I will admit that it feels very empty without any words. We don’t have many lyrics before or after it, so it just sounds like they gave up on it. This feels like an extremely lazy theme song sadly.

I only like one of these songs sadly. The others just feel lazy and bad. Be sure to tell me how I’m wrong in the comments though.
