RAY DONOVAN Is Coming Back With a Feature Film That Will Be Co-Written by Liev Schreiber

I’ve got some great news for all you Ray Donovan fans! It was recently announced that the story will get a proper conclusion with a feature-length film! Liev Schreiber will return and reprise his role as Donovan, and he will co-write the script with series showrunner David Hollander, who will direct.

I actually just finished watching the series, and I couldn’t be happier to hear that the story will get a proper ending. It’s said that the movie will pick up where the seventh and final season left off after it was surprisingly canceled last year.

It’s explained that Mickey is in the wind and Ray is determined to “find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. It will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.”

Gary Levine, Co-President of Entertainment at Showtime said:

“When Ray Donovan went off our air after seven great seasons, we heard from so many of its loyal fans that they were not ready to say goodbye to Ray and the wonderfully dysfunctional Donovan clan. And so, for them, we are delighted that Liev and David are creating a thrilling new chapter of this iconic series.”

Jon Voight is also set to reprise his role as Mickey Donovan, as will Kerris Dorsey as Ray’s daughter Bridget. I imagine that we’ll see several other familiar faces as well. Production on the project is tentatively scheduled to begin later this year in New York.

What do you think about Ray Donovan getting a feature film conclusion?
