Ray Winstone Joins Marvel's BLACK WIDOW Movie

Ray Winstone (The Departed, Beowulf, Sexy Beast) is the latest actor to join Marvel’s upcoming Black Widow standalone prequel movie.

There are no details on who he’s playing, but he will join the previously cast Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, and Florence Pugh. Cate Shortland is directing the film from a script written by Jac Schaeffer and the movie is currently in production in London.

There are no concrete details on the story but there have been a couple rumors. One says that it will be set in 2006, which is a couple years prior to the events of Iron Man. The characters Red Guardian and Taskmaster are also rumored to be a part of the story. The other rumor says that it’s set between the events of Captain: America Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Neither rumor has been confirmed.

It’s also been reported that Pugh (Fighting With My Family), will play the second female lead who has been described as a “kick ass female Bond” type character. She might be playing Yelena Belova in the story, and is said to be “introduced as the new version of Scarlett Johansson’s character.”

Kevin Feige also recently explained that the film will reveal certain aspects of the MCU that we never knew before.

Winstone is an incredible actor and it’ll be interesting to see who he ends up playing in the film. What do you think of Winstone joining Black Widow? Who do you think he’ll be playing?
