Razer Unveils the Viper 8KHz Gaming Mouse and Claims It's the Fastest
Razer made quite the announcement recently. They unveiled the Viper 8KHz mouse and claim that it is the fasts gaming mouse in the world. The mouse uses the new Razer HyperPolling Technology to move from the standard 1000Hz polling rate all the way to 8000Hz which means it’s moving 8 times the data each second and effectively reducing input delay to 1/8 of a millisecond. That is ridiculously fast. Alvin Cheung said:
Latency is a very important part of gameplay that significantly affects the overall gaming experience – and yet, it is overlooked by many companies that focused for too long on increasing DPI. Unlike DPI, lower latency benefits everyone from casual to professional players by shaving off important milliseconds from the overall reaction time. During our testing and development process with a large pool of competitive players and mouse enthusiasts, many reported significantly smoother and more responsive input when using the HyperPolling Technology featured in the new Viper 8KHz esports gaming mouse.
The faster polling rate also means that your cursor will be more up-to-date and smoother. Tarik “tarik” Celik of CS:GO team Evil Geniuses fame said:
This technology is perfect for games that require high precision and responsiveness like CS:GO.
And Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov from the Dota 2 team Alliance agreed and added:
I’d instantly tell the difference between 1000Hz and 8000Hz.
In addition to the HyperPolling Technology, the Viper 8KHz also features 2nd-gen Razer Optical Mouse Switches and Razer Focus+ Optical Sensor for even better improvement. You’ll receive better tactile feedback and find much higher accuracy in your mouse movements.
There are 8 programmable buttons on the Viper 8KHz, too. You can purchase yours now through Razer.com or your favorite retailers with an MSRP of $79.99.
