REACHER Star Alan Ritchson Teases a "New World" For Season 3

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been enjoying the hell out of Prime Video’s Reacher series! We’re currently in the middle of Season 2, and I’m lovin’ it! I’m just such a fan of this character and Alan Ritchson perfectly brings the badass Lee Child’s creation to life!

The second season of the series has become Amazon's biggest TV hit of 2023 after releasing only three episodes, and the action drama series has already earned a Season 3 renewal. The third season is actually already in production, and it sounds like the installment will put Jack Reacher in a very different setting.

During an interview with CB, Ritchson, who is currently shooting Season 3, was asked about the direction of the character and story in the next chapter, and Ritchson teased a "new world" for his character. He said:

"I can't say too much about Season 3, but I will say there's a lot of classic Reacher stories which are just adventures that he gets sucked into in a big way, and we get to enjoy Reacher in a new world. It may not have anything to do with family, with his past, he's just living that adventure out and that's kind of the direction that we've gone and it seems to really be working."

The first season of the series is based on the first novel in the Jack Reacher book series, “The Killing Floor.” Reacher is “a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life. When he arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years.” Reacher is falsely accused of murder and while he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge.

“Season Two begins when veteran military police investigator Jack Reacher receives a coded message that the members of his former U.S. Army unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations, are being mysteriously and brutally murdered one by one. Pulled from his drifter lifestyle, Reacher reunites with three of his former teammates turned chosen family to investigate, including Frances Neagley; Karla Dixon, a forensic accountant for whom Reacher has long had a soft spot; and fast-talking, switchblade-wielding family man David O’Donnell. Together, they begin to connect the dots in a mystery where the stakes get higher at every turn, and that brings about questions of who has betrayed them—and who will die next. Using his inimitable blend of smarts and size, Reacher will stop at nothing to uncover the truth and protect the members of his unit. If there’s one thing Reacher and his team know for certain, it’s that you do not mess with the Special Investigators. This season, get ready for Reacher and the 110th to hit back hard.”

It’ll be cool to see what Season 3 will entail, but in the meantime, I’ll enjoy watching the rest of Season 2.
