Read The Pilot Script For The Cancelled XENA Reboot

Back in 2016 there were plans to reboot Xena: Warrior Princess series at NBC. Original executive producers Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi were involved with the project and Lost writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach was brought on board to write the script.

The series would have include a who new cast and it would have reexamined parts of the mythos, characters, and world of Xena, and also change things up to fit a serialized storyline. The project ended up being cancelled, though, which may relive some fans of the original series.

Well, the script that was written for the pilot has now been made available online to read. So, if you’re curious to know what this reboot would have been like, you can read the script for it here, thanks to Xena Movie Campaign, which is a Facebook fan group.

The script offers a origin story for the Xena and as you might imagine, it makes some changes. One of the most notable changes was making Hercules a villain instead of a hero.
