READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME First Look Features Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton, and More
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is officially on the way, and Searchlight Pictures just delivered a wild first look at the long-awaited sequel. Production has wrapped, and Samara Weaving is back as Grace, the bride who survived one of the most chaotic and bloody wedding nights in movie history.
Thanks to new promo stills revealed by People.com, we now have our first glimpse at Grace’s next nightmare. This time she is joined by Kathryn Newton, whose role is still tightly under wraps. What the photos do make clear is that Grace and Newton’s mystery character look chained together and ready to face another brutal round of hide and seek.
The sequel is locked in for a theatrical release on April 10, 2026, and the images introduce the new hunting family that includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg, and Elijah Wood.
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmaking duo known as Radio Silence, return for the sequel with a screenplay by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.
The directors shared how meaningful it was to revisit this world, saying, "We never dreamed Ready or Not would connect with people the way it has over the past few years and feel so honored to get to step back into Grace’s world.
“The original movie really changed our lives in countless ways, and to see Samara back in that character and back in that dress felt really special to us."
They also teased how intense things are getting for Grace this time around. "It’s exciting to see Grace into a new f*cked-up situation that deepens her story and her character, and we wanted to make sure that this movie wasn’t just more of the same.
“We put a ton of love into this movie to make it a worthy sequel that we’re hoping fans of the first movie — and people who are getting to know Grace for the first time — will really love."
For anyone who needs a quick refresher, the original Ready or Not followed Grace as she married into the eccentric and extremely cursed Le Domas family. Their demonic pact with Mr. Le Bail required them to perform a deadly wedding night ritual whenever the hide-and-seek card appeared.
Grace spent the entire night fighting for survival, outsmarting every deranged in-law, and ultimately living long enough to watch the Le Domas family detonate in a glorious fireball of supernatural justice.
Where Ready or Not 2 goes from there is still a mystery. Why Grace is back in a similar death match and how the mythology of Mr. Le Bail evolves is something Searchlight is keeping quiet for now. But the sequel looks like it is aiming for something bigger, nastier, and incredibly fun.
Expect more details soon because if this first look is any indication, fans are in for another wicked game.
