RE:Anime Launches First Episode of Live-Action NARUTO Web Series
RE:Anime is known for their awesome fan-made short films that reimagine awesome moments from anime and anime-influenced series in live-action. The team recently released a new project though, the first episode in a web series! Naruto: Climbing Silver will run for four episodes with a new episode every week. The first episode features the fight between Asuma and Shikamaru versus Hidan and Kakuzu. Fans of the hit anime are in for a treat. Naruto: Climbing Silver stars JB Tadena, Jonathan Tanigaki, Hunter Smith, Daniel Joo, Jerry Quil, and Marc Cortez.
Nik Shaw directs the web series and had this to say about his excitement and as a pitch to Lionsgate who is currently developing a live-action Naruto film:
Naruto is a very special show to me, and I would not be the person I am today without its creator, Masashi Kishimoto, and his amazing characters and creative vision. I hope that our RE:Anime team has shown his story the respect that it deserves.
Not only do we want to show respect to Kishimoto but we also hope to show the executives at Lionsgate that we can adapt Naruto into live-action in a way that will excite fans and draw in new audiences. A live-action adaptation should be all about sharing the beautiful stories from Japan with the world in a reimagined light, while still maintaining true to the anime’s core message, characters, themes and creators vision. 'Naruto: Climbing Silver' embodies that philosophy.
