Rebecca Ferguson In Talks To Co-Star With Fassbender in THE SNOWMAN; May Join Him in ALIEN: PARADISE LOST

Rebecca Ferguson was one of the best parts about this summer's Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, going toe to toe with Tom Cruise and the rest of the cast and coming out looking like a total badass. As such, the actress has become a hot commodity in Hollywood, with rumors swirling that she was being considered for the role of Captain Marvel at one point. While that role is still yet to officially be filled, Ferguson has her eye on a couple of other projects.

Deadline reports that the actress is in talks to star opposite Michael Fassbender in The Snowman, a Norwegian crime thriller from Let The Right One In and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy director Tomas Alfredson. Fassbender plays Harry Hole, a detective attempting to solve murders committed by Norway's first serial killer — one who murders married mothers and decorates snowmen with their belongings. The deal hasn't gone through yet, but the intention is to begin filming this January.

She's also reportedly "in the mix" to star in Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel Alien: Paradise Lost, which also has Fassbender attached to reprise his role as the android David. We just learned last week that the movie would feature a new batch of travelers for Noomi Rapace and Fassbender's characters to interact with, and though Deadline doesn't have any info about Ferguson's potential role, I'll speculate that she could be a part of that new crew.

In the meantime, Ferguson will co-star with Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, and Jared Leto in The Girl on The Train. While she could return for Mission: Impossible 6, the series hasn't done very well retaining its leading ladies over the course of five films so far. We'll see if Ferguson made a big enough impact to change that.
