Rebel Wilson Joins Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell in Taika Waititi's WWII Film JOJO RABBIT

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is prepping to shoot his new film Jojo Rabbit and he's added another cast member. Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect) is set to join the previously cast Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell.

This is going to be a very interesting film as it's a World War II satire movie that he wrote about "a young boy who longs to be part of the Hitler Youth and whose imaginary friend is Adolf Hitler. He discovers a Jewish girl living in his attic, and after initially trying to find ways to get rid of her, begins to see her as human."

Johansson is playing Jojo’s mother, a woman who is secretly working for the resistance. Waititi is playing the imaginary Hitler, and Rockwell will play a Nazi captain who runs a Hitler Youth camp. Wilson will play a character named Fraulein Rahm, "a brutish instructor in the Hitler Youth Camp the young man has just been recruited to attend." Deadline also reveals that the "lessons she teaches the children is that Jews are the embodiment of mythical creatures."

This is such a fascinating film concept and approach for a WWII story. I'm intrigued by what Waititi is developing, and as a fan of his films and filmmaking style, I'm excited to see how Jojo Rabbit turns out.
