Recent Photo of 91-Year-Old Gene Hackman Surfaces 17 Years After Retiring
Gene Hackman is one of my all-time favorite actors. The guy played some great and iconic characters over the years in the films that he was a part of. The French Connection, The Conversation, Superman, Hoosiers, Mississippi Burning, Unforgiven, The Firm, Wyatt Earp, Get Shorty, Heartbreakers, The Quick and The Dead, Crimson Tide, The Royal Tenenbaums, and more!
Hackman retired 17 years ago after making his final film Welcome to Mooseport in 2004, and we haven’t really seen him since. I’m happy to report that the actor is still alive and well at 91 years old and a recent photo of him was shared on social media by film historian and author James L. Neibaur.
According to Neibaur, Hackman is currently living in New Mexico, and remains active at age 91. “He goes bike riding every day and remains active and engaged with hobbies, and friends.”
It’s pretty great to get an update on Hackman. He looks so much older than I remember him. I know he’s 91, but as I continually rewatch his films, all I’m seeing is what he looked like when he made these great films! So seeing him at this age is a bit jarring, but it’s awesome that he’s enjoying his life!
