Reese Witherspoon Has Signed On to Star in Two Rom-Coms for Netflix; YOUR PLACE OR MINE and THE CACTUS
Reese Witherspoon is one of Hollywood’s hardest working actresses, especially since creating her production banner, Hello Sunshine. Under it, she has created some amazing projects like Big Little Lies at HBO, The Morning Show at Apple, and Little Fires Everywhere at Hulu. She has starred in each of these series, and they have each been as enthralling as the last.
Now she is teaming up with Netflix in a two-feature deal to bring two new movies to the streamer. The first is a team-up between Hello Sunshine and Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Films to produce and star in the romantic comedy Your Place Or Mine, which will be the feature directorial debut of Aline Brosh McKenna, who wrote the scripts for The Devil Wears Prada and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
Here’s the synopsis for Your Place Or Mine:
Your Place Or Mine focuses on two long-distance best friends who change each other’s lives when she decides to pursue a lifelong dream and he volunteers to keep an eye on her teenage son.
Netflix also picked up the rights for Sarah Haywood’s bestselling novel The Cactus, which Witherspoon will produce with Lauren Neustadter.
Here’s the synopsis:
In The Cactus, an unexpected pregnancy at 45 causes a reserved woman to rethink the structured life she has created for herself and leads her on an unconventional journey toward love, family and learning to embrace the unexpected.
I’m excited for both of these films, and everything else Witherspoon has coming up, including a live-action Tinker Bell film, This Above All, a project about a a member of the Westboro Baptist Church who begins to doubt her involvement with the extremist group, and Legally Blonde 3, among others. What Witherspoon project are you most looking forward to?
