Reese Witherspoon to Join Matt Damon in Alexander Payne's DOWNSIZING

A couple of months ago, we learned that Oscar winner Matt Damon would star in Alexander Payne's upcoming film Downsizing. Now, according to Deadline, he'll be acting opposite a fellow Oscar-winner: Reese Witherspoon. The actress is coming off of solid reviews for her performance in Wild (which could earn her another Oscar nom), and this film will re-team her with Payne for the first time since they worked together on Election back in 1999.

Downsizing is described as "a social satire in which a guy realizes he would have a better life if he were to shrink himself," so it seems like Paul Rudd's Scott Lang character in Ant-Man will have some competition in the "shrinking man" category very soon. Payne wrote the script with his Sideways and About Schmidt co-writer Jim Taylor, and shooting will get underway after Damon finishes the next Bourne film for Universal.

Looking forward to seeing what these two A-listers can do under the direction of Alexander Payne?
