Reggie Fils-Aimé Launches New Podcast with Harold Goldberg to Raise Money for Nonprofit
Reggie Fils-Aimé is best known for being the former Nintendo of America president. He has teamed up with Harold Goldberg to create a new podcast called Talking Games with Reggie & Harold to benefit the nonprofit mentoring work of the New York Videogame Critics Circle. The podcast will feature 7 free episodes where they duo will talk about games, entertainment, education, and pop culture with special guests including gaming executives, developers, and other stars along with high school student interns. In fact, one of the guests will be Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards.
Talking Games with Reggie & Harold is more than a podcast though. As I mentioned, the duo are trying to help raise funds to benefit needy youth. They’ve set up a GoFundMe for fans to donate and if you do, you get some awesome extras. Donors will have the potential to submit questions for Fils-Aimé, access to additional content including extended interviews, access to exclusive private auctions, and access to the first chapter of Goldberg’s novel which is inspired by Grand Theft Auto IV and L.A. Noire.
Fils-Aimé released the following statement:
Harold and I are joining forces to create a fun, entertaining and informative podcast to benefit the mission of the nonprofit organization. Maybe I’ll be coaxed to share some of my untold tales from MTV Networks and Nintendo.
Goldberg’s statement reads:
The core work of the NYVGCC is to use the combination of games and journalism to provide educational opportunities, mentoring, internships and scholarships to underserved communities in the NYC area. In particular, we are raising funds for a new initiative to bring games and games writing courses to high school students in homeless shelters in New York City.
The first episode of Talking Games with Reggie & Harold will be available mid-May with new episodes weekly.
