Reggie Fils-Aime to Retire from Nintendo and Doug Bowser is His Successor

Nintendo fans know the name Reggie Fils-Aime. He’s been at Nintendo of America for 15 years and spent the vast majority of that time as president and COO. Well, after so many years of being there to announce new games and hardware, Fils-Aime has announced that he will be retiring on April 15. I’ll admit, I did not see this coming as I’m sure many other fans feel blindsided. Fils-Aime made a lovely video message for fans talking about his departure:

His successor will be Doug Bowser (yes, that is his real last name) who is currently the SVP of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America. Bowser has some big shoes to fill as can be seen by the reaction of many fans on social media after the announcement. How do you feel about the retiring of Fils-Aime?
