Relive Two Classic Duels from YU-GI-OH! with Two New Speed Duel Starter Decks
In case you missed it, a while ago, Konami decided to take the quick format of gameplay from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links and bring it to the real world in a special format called Speed Duels. For this, they had to release new cards and this May, two new Starter Decks are being released: Match of the Millennium and Twisted Nightmares. Now, one thing I really appreciate about the Speed Duel Starter Decks are that each one really comes with two decks, so you can start playing with a friend from the get go.
Match of the Millennium features two decks based on the decks used by Pegasus and Yugi in the final duel of the Duelist Kingdom arc. Pegasus will pull out Toon monsters and Thousand-Eyes Restrict while Yugi is getting new supports for Gaia the Fierce Knight and Black Luster Soldier. Now, I’m very excited because Black Luster Soldier is in my top 3 favorite cards ever! I might pick up Speed Duels just because of this. In addition to the new cards, each character will be gaining two new Skill Cards to further enhance the strategies at work.
Twisted Nightmares is based on another classic battle, but this time, both of the duelists were bad guys. That’s right, it’s Bakura vs Marik in this Starter Deck. Bakura’s fiends like Dark Necrofear and Dark Ruler Ha Des will have to fend off Marik’s Lava Golem and Dark Lucius monsters. Relive this villainous duel from Battle City in a quicker format. Oh, there will also be two new skill cards for each duelist in this set as well.
Each set will also include 2 Ultra Rare variant cards that are sure to get fans excited. You’ll be able to purchase Match of the Millennium and Twisted Nightmares from your friendly local game store or wherever you buy TCG supplies on May 15 with an MSRP of $9.99.
