RESIDENT EVIL 7 Will Be Available On The Nintendo Switch In Japan
Capcom’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will make its way to the Nintendo Switch by the end of the week. However, RE7’s release will not be the usual launch of the game on the system. Furthermore, it is only announced for Japan now.
Resident Evil’s official YouTube page in Japan released a trailer (posted below) for the upcoming Switch version, dubbing it as the “cloud version” of the game. This means that the cloud version would only require players to download a 45MB file on their console, and the rest of the game will be played via streaming. Of course, players are expected to have a strong and constant internet connection to play the whole game smoothly. Lastly, the cloud version of RE7 will be released on May 24 in Japan. No announcement has been made on whether the Switch version of RE7 will be released anywhere else.
The game only supports the Japanese language for now and is just listed on the eShop in Japan. Also, Nintendo Everything reported that the Switch version will offer a 15-minute free trial, where players will be asked to purchase the full game for 2000 yen or approximately USD 18. Lastly, the cloud version of Resident Evil 7 will include the entire base game and all of the previously released DLCs including Banned Footage Volume 1 and 2, End of Zoe, and Not a Hero.
Resident Evil 7 is already available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
