RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE Gets a New Trailer, Release Date and More
Capcom recently made some big news by showing off some gameplay, a new trailer, and more for Resident Evil Village, the eighth main title in the franchise. It will continue the story of Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7 biohazard, and in case you missed that game, there will be a bundle of the two games that you can pick up. Ethan will have to deal with Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters who turn into swarms of insects, so that’s a thing. The game will also have a similar inventory management system as Resident Evil 4, but now there’s also a crafting mechanic for you to dive into if you don’t want to buy and sell items.
Resident Evil Village is set to release on May 7 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. If you can’t wait until then, PS5 owners can now download the “Maiden” demo that is designed to show off the same visuals and audio, but is a separate story and won’t feature any combat elements. Other demos will be released for the other platforms later this spring. Pre-orders are now live.
Another item showcased is the multiplayer experience Resident Evil Re:Verse that will be available for free to anyone who purchases Resident Evil Village. This will be an experience that launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players able to access it via backwards compatibility. Fans can enjoy playing as their favorite Resident Evil characters in four to six-player deathmatch battles. Featuring comic-style visuals and a fan-favorite roster, this looks to be a great way to celebrate 25 years of this iconic franchise.
