Retro Trailer For Sam Raimi’s ARMY OF DARKNESS, Which is Still Groovy as Hell!

This week's retro trailer is for Sam Raimi's awesome 1992 horror-comedy adventure Army of Darkness, one of those movies that I absolutely loved growing up and still can't get enough of!

Bruce Campbell returns as the chainsaw-wielding, wisecracking Ash Williams, who finds himself thrown back in time to medieval England, where he's forced to battle an army of the undead while trying to find his way home.

Armed with his trusty boomstick, a chainsaw, and a seemingly endless supply of hilarious one-liners, Ash sets out to recover the Necronomicon, only to accidentally unleash an army of skeletons led by his own evil doppelgänger.

What follows is an insanely entertaining mix of horror, fantasy, slapstick comedy, and sword-swinging action that only a filmmaker like Raimi could pull off.

No matter how many times I've seen it, this movie just never gets old! Campbell is absolutely perfect as Ash, delivering one ridiculous line after another with an attitude that makes him one of the greatest cult movie heroes of all time.

Raimi fills the film with wonderfully creative practical effects, stop-motion skeletons, outrageous physical comedy, and the kind of inventive filmmaking that gives the whole adventure so much personality. It's goofy, creepy, endlessly quotable, and packed with memorable moments that still make me laugh.

There's just something about the energy and ridiculous charm of this movie that keeps me coming back. It's pure cinematic fun, and for me, Army of Darkness will always be one of Raimi's greatest films. Hail to the king, baby!
