Retro Trailer For The 1972 Killer Amphibian Movie FROGS Starring Sam Elliott
This week’s obscure retro trailer is for the 1972 killer amphibian horror thriller Frogs! The movie was directed by George McCowan and stars Sam Elliott, Ray Milland, Adam Roarke, David Gilliam, and Nicholas Cortland.
The movie follows a group of helpless victims as they celebrate a birthday on an island estate that’s crawling with killer amphibians, birds, insects, and reptiles. Ya gotta love a movie about evil killer frogs! Here’s the synopsis for the movie:
Unsurprisingly, grumpy Southern chemical baron Jason Crockett (Milland) is not terribly concerned with the environment. When Pickett Smith (Elliott), a wildlife photographer in the area, stumbles upon the snakebitten corpse of Crockett's gardener, who was sent out to spray pesticide, he knows something is amiss. Smith attempts to warn Crockett and his family to postpone their Fourth of July celebrations as local animals begin behaving strangely, but Crockett stubbornly refuses.
This movie offers up some ridiculous fun and it’s great watching a young Sam Elliott in the movie! He’s come a long way since Frogs was released! You can watch the trailer and the full film below.
