Retro Trailer For The 1984 Fantasy Adventure Film THE COMPANY OF WOLVES

This week’s retro trailer is for the 1984 fantasy adventure film The Company of Wolves. The movie was directed by Neil Jordan, and it serves as a dark and visually striking reimagining of traditional fairy tales.

The movie follows the story of Rosaleen, a young girl played by Sarah Patterson, who is drawn into a dreamlike world where reality intertwines with the supernatural. Set in a remote village plagued by werewolf legends:

Wolves and werewolves lurk throughout the dreams of young Rosaleen, who imagines that she must journey through a dark forest to live with her grandmother (Angela Lansbury). When Rosaleen meets a rugged hunter in the woods, she discovers that she has an animal-like attraction to him, leading to a macabre turn of events. The lupine-centric film also features stories within the main tale, told by both Rosaleen and her grandma, all of which have a supernatural bent.

This is actually a beautifully shot film and the story offers a thought-provoking exploration of folklore and the dark corners of the human psyche. The story blurs the lines between dreams and reality, as Rosaleen confronts her fears and desires.

Check out the trailer below and I also included the full film as well if you want to watch it!
