This week’s retro trailer is for the 1984 slasher horror film Splatter University, in honor of all of those young kids out there starting college soon! “Earn a higher degree… in terror!”

Splatter University is directed by Richard W. Haines and the story revolves around St. Trinian's College, a once-peaceful institution that becomes a site of terror when a psychotic killer escapes from a nearby insane asylum and finds refuge at the campus.

The film predominantly follows Julie Parker, a young teacher who arrives at the school, oblivious to its deadly history. As students begin to disappear or are found gruesomely murdered, Julie becomes determined to uncover the identity of the killer. Suspicion abounds, and the climax of the film reveals a surprising twist about the murderer's identity.

Splatter University is best remembered for its graphic violence and campy B-movie quality. As with many slasher films from the era, it has gained a cult following over the years due to its over-the-top gore, and offbeat characters.
