Retro Trailer For The Crazy Weird 1985 Horror Movie NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR
This week’s retro trailer is for the 1995 horror movie Night Train To Terror! The movie focuses on a train bound for Hell, and God and Satan decide the fates of three unfortunate mortals.
The movie consists of a trio of chilling tales connected by a framing story set aboard a nocturnal train. Aboard this train, two omnipotent beings, God and Satan, discuss the fate of the souls aboard, weighing their virtues and sins. They watch over three separate stories, dissecting human nature, morality, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.
The stories include a case of a crazed cult, a cautionary tale about the perils of technological advancements gone awry, and a narrative involving a death-dealing game of chance. “In ‘Harry’, a fiendish killer keeps the horribly mutilated body parts of his countless victims in a diabolical tourture chamber. In ‘Gretta’, a young woman, obsessed with death, takes part in an unspeakable ritual of Russian roulette. Finally in ‘Claire’, a young woman and a middle aged Holocaust survivor are terrorized by the son of Satan!”
The stories in the film play out in a disjointed manner, and they are interspersed with a synth-rock musical performance by a band, which is so weird! The disjointed nature of the film stems from the fact that the segments were originally intended to be feature-length films on their own but were heavily edited down for inclusion in this anthology. The resulting product is an eccentric patchwork of horror elements, music, and philosophical musings on the nature of good and evil.
I’ve got two trailers for you to watch below, and I hope you get a kick out of them!
