Retro Trailer For The 1988 Horror Film WAXWORKS
“Welcome to the Waxworks.” This week’s retro trailer is for the 1988 horror movie Waxworks, which is one of those films that I loved watching when I was growing up!
The film was directed by Anthony Hickox and it blended classic horror elements with dark comedy. The story follows a group of teenagers led by Mark (Zach Galligan) and Sarah (Deborah Foreman), who are invited to a mysterious wax museum by its enigmatic owner, Mr. Lincoln (David Warner).
As they explore the exhibits, they discover that each wax display represents a different classic horror scenario—Dracula, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and more. However, when visitors step too close, they are magically transported into the deadly world of the exhibit, becoming trapped in terrifying realities where they must fight for survival.
I always thought that was a really cool and fun concept. As Mark and Sarah unravel the sinister truth behind the wax museum, they learn that Mr. Lincoln is using these displays to resurrect real supernatural monsters, with the ultimate goal of unleashing them upon the world. With the help of an eccentric professor, the surviving teens battle the wax figures and their monstrous inhabitants in a climactic showdown.
It’s a horror movie worth checking out if you’ve never seen it.
