Retro Trailer for the Awesome 1989 Martial Arts Action Film BLIND FURY

This week’s retro trailer is for the 1989 martial arts action film Blind Fury! This is a favorite movie of mine and it has a great blend of humor, heart, and awesome action.

Directed by Phillip Noyce, the movie stars Rutger Hauer as Nick Parker, a Vietnam War veteran who is blinded in combat but survives by mastering the art of swordsmanship under the guidance of a skilled sensei.

Years later, Nick returns to the United States, where he discovers his old friend Frank Devereaux (Terry O’Quinn) is in trouble. Frank has been forced to manufacture drugs for a powerful crime syndicate to protect his son, Billy (Brandon Call).

When Frank is captured, Nick takes it upon himself to safeguard Billy and dismantle the criminal organization, using his razor-sharp katana and heightened senses.

Blind Fury stands out for its inventive action choreography, where Nick’s blindness adds an unconventional twist to traditional swordfights. Rutger Hauer also delivers a fun and charismatic performance.

Enjoy the trailer and if you’ve never seen this movie, you’ve got to watch it!
