Retro Trailer for the Cheesy 1986 Slasher Horror Film EVIL LAUGH
If you’re in the mood for some gloriously cheesy ’80s slasher horror, here’s the trailer for the 1986 film Evil Laugh.
Directed by Dominick Brascia, the movie follows a group of medical students who head out to an abandoned orphanage with plans to fix the place up, which, as you might imagine, turns out to be a terrible idea.
The building has a nasty history involving a massacre, and before long the group finds themselves being picked off by a killer lurking around the property.
Evil Laugh was released right in the middle of the slasher boom, and it has pretty much everything you’d expect from this kind of low-budget ’80s horror flick with a creepy location, dumb decisions, gruesome kills, goofy humor, and a masked murderer on the loose.
The film also features an early appearance by Scott Baio’s brother Steven Baio, along with Kim McKamy, who would later become better known as adult film star Ashlyn Gere.
It’s definitely one of the more obscure slashers to come out of the era, but for horror fans who enjoy digging into the strange corners of ’80s genre cinema, Evil Laugh is a fun little time capsule. Check out the retro trailer below!
