Review: Brad Pitt's BULLET TRAIN is an Insanely Fun and Wild Action Film!
Leading up to its release, I was actually pretty pumped up about Brad Pitt’s new action movie, Bullet Train. The movie was helmed by director David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2, and Hobbs & Shaw) and he ended up delivering another awesome movie that audiences are going to have a blast watching.
Bullet Train is exactly what I was hoping it would be, an insanely fun and wild ride filled with badass action scenes and funny humor. I’ve seen some reviews being very critical of the film, but this flick knows exactly what it is and it leaned into the awesomeness of that and delivered an over-the-top thrilling movie-going experience that stimulated all the senses!
The movie is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle, written by Kotaro Isaka. The story follows several assassins who are traveling on a fast-moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka and their missions are all connected to a briefcase full of money and a legendary mob boss known as The White Death. At the same time, they all have conflicting objectives, and this makes for a lot of confusion and a lot of brutal bloody fighting.
The action in the movie reminded me of the kind of awesome fight sequences that we used to see from Jackie Chan back in the day, and I loved it. I also enjoyed the comedy element that was incorporated into the fight scenes and the story. But, my favorite part of the film was the characters.
Pitt’s character Ladybug was such an amusing and likable character, the kind of character you want to root for. He was joined by Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Masi Oka, Andrew Koji, and Sandra Bullock had a small role.
The two best characters in the film were Taylor-Johnson’s Tangerine and Henry’s Lemon. These guys completely stole the show. They are two British assassin brothers, and they had all the best scenes. These guys were just so much fun to watch. They had the best scenes in the film and some of the best dialogue. Audiences are going to love them!
If you’re looking for a good time at the movies, go see Bullet Train! If you’ve already seen it, tell us what you thought!
