Review: JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION Is My Favorite Jurassic Film Since JURASSIC PARK

I’ve enjoyed all of the films in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises, but Steven Spielberg’s first entry is the best of the franchise. None of the sequels have been able to hit the high bar the first movie set. While the Jurassic World films have been fun, the first two have been my least favorite films in the franchise.

I’ve gotta be honest, I was expecting more of the same with Jurassic World Dominion, but I was hoping it would surpass my expectations, especially with the legacy cast returning! Sam Neill (Alan Grant), Laura Dern (Dr. Ellie Sattler), and Jeff Goldblum (Dr. Ian Malcom) are the main reasons that my excitement was perked for this movie and it was awesome to see them again!

I’m happy to report that director Colin Trevorrow’s Dominion actually ended up being a great movie! It totally surpassed my expectations, and I was kinda surprised by how good it was. It was just an all-around spectacular movie, and on top of all the action, it actually had a solid story and a strong script.

The story is set four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now openly roam the Earth, and as you might imagine, that is causing some major problems. But the dinosaurs roaming the planet again aren’t the only issue! I won’t get into any spoiler details, but I will remind you that there is also a human clone out there as well. Also, one thing that was revealed in the trailers is that Chris Pratt’s pet Raptor Blue had a baby Raptor and that Raptor is kidnapped. So, obviously, Chris Pratt (Owen Grady) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Clarie Dearing) embark on an adventure to find her. You know, because Owen made a promise to a dinosaur.

Alan, Ellie, and Ian are on a separate journey in the film, but at a certain point in the movie, they end up crossing paths, and the two generations team up for the first time to help each other survive the crazy situation that they’ve found themselves in. They are also joined by a couple of other new characters that help them along the way. DeWanda Wise plays a pilot named Kayla Watts, and Manoudou Athie plays Ramsay Cole.

One thing a lot of fans are going to love about this movie is the action. Jurassic World Dominion is loaded with thrilling and intense action sequences that will have audiences on the edge of their seats. I’m sure that some audience members will even be jumping out of their seats! Things get pretty insane and of course, you can expect those classic dinosaur scares. This film seriously has some of the best action I’ve seen in any of the films in the franchise. It was impressive.

I had a blast watching this movie and in my opinion, this is the best Jurassic film in the franchise since Jurassic Park. I think fans of the franchise are going to love it! When you do see it, make sure you watch it in theaters on the big screen! It’s the big summer moviegoing experience that you won’t want to miss!
