Review: McDonald's Szechaun Sauce Was As Good As RICK AND MORTY Advertised...But Nothing New
Yesterday McDonald's finally made good on their promise and released enough Szechuan Sauce for Rick and Morty fans to get their hands on, and I gotta say, it was worth the hype. Before I get too into that though, this clip will bring anyone who doesn't watch Rick and Morty into the loop on why we're writing about a McNugget sauce on GeekTyrant:
Overall, I'd rank McDonald's Szechuan Sauce in my top 3. For those wondering about where the sauce falls in my book:
- Tangy BBQ
- Signature Sauce
- Szechuan Sauce
For those that didn't get a chance to try it, the Szechuan Sauce tastes kind of like Tangy BBQ, just with a little more salt and Teriyaki. It's a great combination for nuggets, although I'd be lying if I said this sauce was some kind of exotic experience. I've had it at Asian restaurants before with pork, so if you somehow aren't able to get your hands on a sauce before McDonald's runs out again, go to your local Asian place and order Szechuan anything...it's literally the exact same sauce.
Overall though it's a sauce I enjoyed, and one I will no doubt try again should McDonald's keep it around past this promotional period. Others who tried the sauce, did you feel differently?
