Review: NAMCO MUSEUM COLLECTION Really Does Let You Relive Classic Arcade Games
Bandai Namco recently released Namco Museum Archive Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 on most major platforms. This was a collection of classic arcade games like Galaga and PAC-MAN along with games never seen on Western consoles before. Bandai Namco was kind enough to send me a copy of both volumes, so here’s what I think.
It all boils down to a simple question. Do you like classic 8-bit arcade games? If you answered yes, you’ll love Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. These provide very accurate copies of the games to modern systems with optional tweaks if you want to play around with things. There’s a neat rewind feature that lets you undo that stupid mistake you made. There’s also different aspect ratios available to fit your preferences. You can even have it enable retro scan lines!
The games play great and feel just like you’re playing the arcade classics. The only thing different is the location and the controller. If you want to revisit arcade classics, this is a pretty great option.
You can play Namco Museum Archive Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 today on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
