Review: Netflix’s League of Legends Animated Series ARCANE Is Incredible!
This past weekend, Netflix released the first three episodes of its League of Legends animated series, Arcane, and if you haven’t watched it yet, put it at the top of your list because this show is freakin’ incredible!
I was sold on the series with the trailers that were released over the past couple of months, but I was not prepared for how great of a show that it ended up being. Arcane certainly exceeded my expectations and within the first five minutes I was completely hooked. The story and characters instantly grabbed my attention and didn’t let go.
The series is set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun. The story follows the “origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart.” The two main characters featured in the series include Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell). I won’t give you more of the story than that, this is a story that you just have to watch unfold to fully appreciate its greatness.
The story told is just so damn good, and the way that it’s told is amazing and beautiful, and it’s filled with such raw emotion. I love how the characters and story are set up in these first three episodes. You really can’t help but just love the characters, and this first part of the story all leads to an end that will leave you in awe and filled with feelings.
The art and animation style is also visually stunning. It has such a cool and unique tone, and I was impressed with every visual aspect of the series that popped up on screen. There’s so much spectacular eye candy!
On top of the great story and the beautiful visuals, the series is also filled with the most awesome realistic and brutal fight sequences and action scenes. There’s seriously not a dull moment in this show. Once it gets going I didn’t want it to stop and when it did finally end, I was so bummed out that I have to wait another week for the next three episodes to drop!
I just absolutely love this world that I was introduced to in the series. If you haven’t ever played League of Legends, don’t worry, you don’t have to be familiar with the game to enjoy this series. Arcane stands on its own and tells an amazing story that audiences will love.
Arcane is one of the best shows that Netflix has produced, and I hope that you take the time to watch. I promise you’ll enjoy the hell out of it!
