Review: The DXRacer CRAFT Is Gaming Chair Royalty in Every Way
Editor’s Note: DXRacer did not sponsor this article, but they did provide us with the Lucky Always DXRacer Craft gaming chair for this review.
When upgrading a gaming setup, people often love to change up monitors, TVs, upgrade systems or PCs, and a plethora of accessories. I’ve always been focused on improving my visual and audio setups, with the occasional nicer controller. However, I would always find myself sitting on whatever thing was closest to the TV: a random folding chair, couch, or my bed. But with the DXRacer Craft gaming chair, I can actually game in pristine comfort.
The DXRacer is a sleek, sturdy gaming chair that has a lot of the bells and whistles that you would want. The reclining in the back goes down far enough that I could lie down and take a nice nap (which I have). The armrests move up and down, back and forth, and even pivot in and out to best match where my arms are resting while playing at the moment. The headrest is soft but firm. The chair obviously goes up and down and can lean back with a level of resistance customized to how you like. And lastly, for me who has a bad back, you are able to adjust and add quite a bit of lumbar support with a large dial on the side. All these features function very well and feel like they can last for a very long time. The build quality in this chair is as good as I can imagine gaming chairs ever being. I’ve spent a few weeks on it now, easily putting 70 hours or more in it going between controller usage, mouse and keyboard, and normal computer use. Overall, it has helped me be more comfortable and help straighten out my back pain while enjoying extended periods of gaming.
Nothing is ever truly perfect and there are a few things that could’ve been different. It is surprising that there is no footrest that pops down from the chair, which can be really nice for us shorter gamers. I also find the chair to be quite firm, which I like. But I could see some complaints from other users. It isn’t uncomfortable at all, but it definitely leans on the firmer side of the rolling chair spectrum. The last thing to point out is that as of now, everything is fully functional, but a little stiff. The different buttons, wheels, and levers work perfectly fine, but I wish were a bit smoother out of the box.
While I usually don’t talk about price when it comes to the quality of accessories or games, it is important to note that this is a high-quality and premium gaming accessory. For the price that it is, I think upgrading your audio system, mouse and keyboard, or controller might be worth more to some gamers. However, if those things are less of a priority or your setup is already well-established, it could very well be worth investing in an extremely nice chair like this DXRacer Craft gaming chair.
Even though those last two paragraphs seem like a lot of negatives, this gaming chair stands at an incredibly high quality and is very sleek. I can sit in it for hours and use it again and again for days with no problems and honestly be able to relax in it better than in any other rolling chair/gaming chair I’ve ever been in. It might not be as comfy as a couch or a beanbag, but it does the job right where it needs to and can very well be worth the price.
