Review: TOKYO: DAY BY DAY is a Good Travel Guide at a Bad Time
VIZ Media recently released the travel guide book Tokyo: Day by Day. This book features 365 different places for you to visit next time you visit Tokyo. The idea is to provide non-locals with a guide that takes you to some of the less-explored parts of Tokyo. It’s pretty cool and you can grab a copy now from a variety of retailers.
One of the great things about Tokyo: Day by Day is that not only does it tell you what there is to do, but how to get there, when to get there, and more. The types of places included range across a wide variety including places to eat like Ebisu Yoroniku, festivals like the Asakusa Sanja Festival in May, natural locations like Kameiwa Cave, temples like the Meigetsu-in Temple, and so much more. If you get to go to Tokyo in the near future, it’s definitely worth looking through this book.
The big problem with the book though is that it’s come at a bad time. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people typically aren’t traveling abroad as much. Hopefully, by the time people are moving around again the information will still be accurate. That’s always the trouble with travel guides is that they’re not always up-to-date.
Tokyo: Day by Day is very helpful and it really makes me want to visit Japan again. I feel like with this book, I could easily spend all my time in Tokyo with no need to go anywhere else this time.
