Revisit Classic YU-GI-OH! TCG Packs with the 25th Anniversary LEGENDARY COLLECTION
Konami recently launched the 25th Anniversary Edition of the Legendary Collection for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Inside one of these boxes (retailing for $31.99), duelists will find Ultra Rare promos of the three Egyptian God cards (Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and The Winged Dragon of Ra) as well as the three most famous monsters from the game’s history (Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician, and Red-Eyes Black Dragon). In addition, one of these cards will be included as a seventh promo card in the new Quarter Century Secret Rare which is really pretty. It’s kind of like a Starlight Rare.
The promos are not the only cards included though. You’ll also get one pack each of Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon, Metal Raiders, Spell Ruler, Pharaoh’s Servant, Dark Crisis, and Invasion of Chaos. I don’t know why Labyrinth of Nightmare, Legacy of Darkness, Pharaonic Guardian, and Magician’s Force were skipped, but they were. This is a fun way to open up classic Yu-Gi-Oh! packs and Konami was kind enough to send me a single box to open. I bought a Legendary Collection back in the day and so this was pretty fun to relive. The Ultra Rare God cards look identical to the original promo.
Two notes I have though are that I wish that if the Quarter Century Secret Rare was a god card, maybe have it be a playable version and it could’ve been really cool to have them be the Kazuki Takahashi alternate artworks. In addition, I kind of wish that the cards in the classic packs could’ve been stamped or something with a 25th anniversary mark somewhere. At the end of the day though, this is a fun Yu-Gi-Oh! product if you like opening up sealed items.
