RICK AND MORTY Creator Justin Roiland's Domestic Abuse Case Dismissed and He Breaks His Silence
Justin Roiland’s life recently blew up after domestic abuse allegations were made against him by his ex-girlfriend, and while he was facing felony charges for an incident that took place in 2020, Adult Swim dropped him from Rick and Morty, and Hulu dropped him from Solar Opposites and Koala Man.
Well, those charges against him were recently dropped, and for the first time since all of this happened, Roiland broke his silence. He said in a recent post on social media:
"I have always known that these claims were false -- and I never had any doubt that this day would come. I'm thankful that this case has been dismissed but, at the same time, I'm still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process.
"Most of all, I'm disappointed that so many people were so quick to judge without knowing the facts, based solely on the word of an embittered ex trying to bypass due process and have me 'canceled.' That is may have succeeded, even partially, is shameful. However, now that the legal case has ended, I'm determined to move forward and focus on my creative projects and restoring my good name."
While those charges have been dropped, all of the details of Roiland’s inappropriate workplace behavior surfaced online from several people that have worked with him over the years. It all sounds so bizarre and chaotic. There are several stories about all of this that you can read about in detail here. I assume these are the “horrible lies” that he’s talking about in his statement.
After going through the wringer like this and after hearing what it was like for people to work with him, I imagine it’s not going to be easy for him to move forward. The big question is, are people willing to work with him again after all of this?
