Ridiculous Trailer Unleashes a Man-Shark Twist in Horror-Comedy DR. JEKYLL AND MR. SHARK

Classic literature keeps getting twisted in weird and interesting ways, and the latest example is a gloriously unhinged one. Wild Eye Releasing has dropped the trailer and poster for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Shark, an indie horror-comedy that takes Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and swims straight into B-movie waters.

Instead of a refined monster lurking in the shadows, this version leans fully into absurdity. The film is directed by Max Raven, working from a script by Bando Glutz, and it knows exactly what kind of ride it wants to be. This isn’t a prestige reimagining. It’s a gleefully strange mashup that mixes grief, madness, and a very literal man-shark.

The story centers on Dr. Henry Jekyll, a broken and isolated man shattered by the loss of his wife. His descent takes a hard left turn when he experiments with an untested drug called Sharcopine, and things go off the rails in the best possible way.

The official synopsis reads: “After losing his wife, the deranged and reclusive Dr. Henry Jekyll descends into a nightmare of grief and obsession – until he takes Sharcopine, an untested drug that warps his body into a bloodthirsty man-shark. Now driven by madness and love from beyond the grave, Jekyll prowls the streets, hunting anyone who threatens his twisted relationship with his long-dead bride.”

Leading the cast is Randy Clower, joined by Dani Bliss, Erica Muse, Victoria Chaney, Tom Fegan, and Josh Martin. The trailer leans into the film’s low-budget charm, practical creature effects, and knowingly ridiculous tone.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Shark is scheduled to hit on January 20th, 2026.
