Ridley Scott Bringing THE MAGIC CASTLE to Screens and Cities Near You

THR reports that Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions is teaming up with Radar Pictures to produce The Magic Castle, a feature film centered around the iconic private magic club in Los Angeles. That’s right. Magic. It is a private magic club. It is the best.

Currently, there is no director attached to the project, although McG was attached in the past. There is also no word on what kind of story the movie will tell. But what we do know is that Scott Free and Radar are developing the property across various platforms. They are also looking into TV and digital possibilities.

But wait! There’s more! Scott Free and Radar will also be teaming up with The Magic Castle Ic. to franchise the club in cities across the world, which, I mean… I don’t know how that is going to work. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Magic Castle, but it is a private club for magicians and magic enthusiasts. You have to be a member or a member’s guest to get in. There are magic shows going on all the time, and the performers are really good. Since I don’t know that much about the magician community, I don’t really know if there are huge quantities of talented magicians across the globe to fill the membership and also perform, or if the franchises will water down the concept and be like a magic version of Bubba Gump. It will be interesting to see how this develops.

Are you super into close up magic? Do you have personal insight into the international magician community? Let us know.
