Ridley Scott Confirms a 10 Episode Live-Action BLADE RUNNER Series Is in Development

Ridley Scott has offered an update on the upcoming Alien series that’s in development at FX and also confirmed that there’s also a live-action Blade Runner series is in the works as well! He shared that pilots for both of these shows have been written.

When talking about Blade Runner with BBC, Scott said that the project is being planned as a 10 episode series, sharing, “We [have already] written the pilot for Blade Runner and the bible. So, we’re already presenting Blade Runner as a TV show, the first 10 hours.”

This is the first time that Scott has discussed a Blade Runner series, and I can’t help but wonder what he and the creative he’s got working on it are planning. As of right now there are no details, so we can only really guess and speculate about what the show could be. What would you like to see explored in a Blade Runner series?

Scott also talked about Noah Hawley’s Alien series, explaining that it is getting a similar treatment with a pilot written and a bible of what will take place over the course of 8 to 10 episodes.

When it comes to the Alien series, we know a little bit more about it. It’s set not too far into our future, “it’s the first Alien set on Earth—and by blending both the timeless horror of the first Alien film with the non-stop action of the second, it’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats.“

FX is producing the series, and it will most likely premiere sometime in 2023.
