Ridley Scott is Directing His First TV Series with a Sci-Fi Project Called RAISED BY WOLVES

Ridley Scott is set to direct his first TV series ever with a new sci-fi project being developed for TNT called Raised By Wolves. Scott will also serve as an executive producer. This definitely sounds like the kind of story that Scott would have fun with bringing to life.

Raised By Wolves is a serialized drama about “two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.”

Scott is no stranger to telling stories with androids with film franchises such as Blade Runner and Alien under his belt. Scott had this to say in a statement:

“I’m always searching for new frontiers in the sci-fi genre and have found a true original in Raised by Wolves — a wholly distinct and imaginative world, full of characters struggling with existential questions: What makes us human? What constitutes a family? And what if we could start over again and erase the mess we’ve made of our planet? Would we survive? Would we do better? Given TNT’s impressive run of bold, quality programming, this feels like exactly the right home for this kind of ambitious television.”

Screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners) will serve as showrunner as well as a writer on Raised by Wolves, executive-producing alongside Scott, David W. Zucker (The Man in the High Castle), Jordan Sheehan (The Terror) Adam Kolbrenner (Prisoners) and Robyn Meisinger (Prisoners).

This sounds like it could end up being a great series to watch, especially with Scott at the helm. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how it turns out. What do you think about this new adventurous sci-fi project that Scott is about to embark on?
