Ridley Scott's GUCCI to Cast Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Adam Driver, and Jared Leto Alongside Lady Gaga
Ridley Scott is best known for directing the films Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise, Gladiator, and so many more. He has made his mark in Hollywood, and he shows no sign of slowing down. The director has twelve directing projects on the horizon, the first of which is the series Raised By Wolves, which is set to hit HBO Max next month, and next up is the Untitled Gucci Project at MGM he is directing, that so far stars singer and actress Lady Gaga (A Star is Born).
The film will follow the story of Patrizia Reggiani (played by Gaga), the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who plotted to kill her husband, the grandson of world renowned fashion designer Guccio Gucci. Patrizia was “tried and convicted of orchestrating her ex-husband’s assassination on the steps of his office in 1995. Maurizio had two daughters with Reggiani, but he left her for another woman. She’d had a brain tumor removed, and her children blamed it for her actions; the media took a darker view of her during a sensationalized affair, depicting her as a hot-blooded woman scorned and dubbing her ‘Black Widow.’ She served 18 years in jail before being let out in 2016.”
The film is currently casting the rest of the roles, and Deadline reports that Scott and the casting directors are in talks with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Adam Driver, and Jared Leto, as well as Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire, Fargo) and Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful). All are solid actors and would bring a great performance to the film. This will be an interesting story to see unfold, and I can’t wait to see who ends up making the deal to be cast.
