RING FIT ADVENTURE Will Help You Stay Active While You Stay Inside
Right now a lot of things are shut down including gyms. This has many people wondering how they’re going to get those sweet sweet gains that make them swol. Well, it’s not a perfect solution and probably won’t make you swol, but have you considered Ring Fit Adventure? It is Nintendo’s latest exercise video game that came out last year and it’s a lot of fun. I want to reiterate that it probably won’t make you buff, but it will help you exercise and some exercise is better than no exercise. The only catch to the game is that you have to own a Nintendo Switch and buy the game with the leg strap and Ring-Con for around $80.
So, I know what you’re thinking. Exercise games like Wii Fit and Wii Fit U start out fine, but after a month they’re stupid and dull and boring. Ring Fit Adventure is completely new and different though. It has a story mode you can play through to level up a character and it’s a lot of fun. It’s great having a story to help push you forward and work on forming an at-home workout habit. I started playing in November, and I’m still going with it. It’s helped me lose weight!
In addition to the story, there’s a quickplay mode that lets you just jump right into workouts. You can create a custom playlist or even use their pre-made ones designed to work different muscles. There’s also a mode full of mini-games to help create a fun party atmosphere for you and your family. If that’s not enough, last week they launched a new rhythm game mode. You listen to music and workout to the beat. It’s like an exercise-focused version of Guitar Hero or Dance Dance Revolution. There’s a lot of variety to meet the needs of a lot of people.
My biggest complaint is that the game only helps you warm-up and cool down with the Adventure Mode. If you want to use any of the other modes, you’re on your own for those very crucial parts of your workout.
I know that it’s very tempting these days to just sit on the couch and do nothing but binge Netflix (or any other streaming service), but I would recommend that if you have a Switch, get Ring Fit Adventure to help you be a little more active in these isolating times.
