Riveting Trailer for True Story Drama DEAD MAN'S WIRE Starring Bill Skarsgård, Colman Domingo and Al Pacino

A fantastic new trailer has been released for the drama Dead Man’s Wire from Oscar nominated director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk, Feud), and writer Austin Kolodney in his feature debut.

The movie is based on the 1977 true story, wherein the kidnapping of a prominent banker was televised, gripping the nation and turning the everyman abductor (Bill Skarsgård) into an outlaw folk hero.

The star-studded cast also includes Dacre Montgomery as banker Dick Hall, Cary Elwes, Myha'la, Colman Domingo, and Al Pacino.

The synopsis reads: “The morning of February 8, 1977, Anthony G. "Tony" Kiritsis (starring Bill Skarsgård), 44, entered the office of Richard O. Hall, president of the Meridian Mortgage Company, and took him hostage with a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun wired with a "dead man's wire" from the trigger to the Hall's head.

“This is the true story of the stand-off that took the world by storm as Tony demanded $5 million, no charges & no prosecution, and a personal apology from the Halls for cheating him out of what he was "owed."

This looks incredibly compelling and well done. The film has opened at many film festivals this year, and has received incredible reviews and audience response.

Check out the trailer below, and catch Dead Man’s Wire in theaters on January 16th.
