Riz Ahmed Stars in Trailer for MOGUL MOWGLI as Rising British-Pakastani Hip Hop Star
Academy Award-nominated actor Riz Ahmed has a new film coming out titled Mogul Mowgli, for which we have a trailer for you to check out today. The film “is described as a bold, vital and electrifying exploration of heritage and identity. The film centers around British Pakistani rapper Zed, who is a rising star on the cusp of his first world tour. But, struck down by an illness that threatens to derail his big break, he’s forced to confront his past, his family, and the uncertainty of his legacy.”
If this sounds familiar, that’s because it is basically the same plot of Ahmed’s last film, the Oscar-winning picture Sound of Metal, which follows a heavy-metal drummer whose life is thrown into freefall when he begins to lose his hearing.
Ahmed is an incredible actor, and this does sound good. Hopefully it strikes differently enough that fans will be able to differentiate the films. Check out the trailer below, and watch Mogul Mowgli when it is slated to open in New York and Los Angeles theaters on September 3rd.
