Rob Zombie Confirms His THE MUNSTERS Movie Will Be Rated PG and Explains Why
Rob Zombie has confirmed that his upcoming film adaptation of The Munsters will be rated PG. That’s definitely a first for Zombie, whose previous films are all hard R. The fact that The Munster is PG, though, makes me happy because it’s The Munsters!
I was actually worried that Zombie would take things to a violent and twisted place, but nope! He actually went out and made a film that will be fun for the whole family! He shared the news on Instagram saying:
“For those of you speculating, wondering and assuming that The Munsters would be dirty, violent and nasty…well, you are wrong. It’s all good down on Mockingbird Lane.”
The film follows a family of benign monsters who relocate from Transylvania to the American suburbs. The cast includes Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Dan Roebuck as Grandpa Munster, along with Doctor Who and Hobbit actor Sylvester McCoy, who is playing Igor, "the faithful servant of the family."
The movie is set up at Universal Studios’ 1440 Entertainment division, and it will likely go directly to streaming. No release date has been set yet for the film.
