Rob Zombie Producer Reveals HALLOWEEN 3 Was Never Discussed

With a new Halloween in theaters, a lot of interviews have surfaced regarding past films. We’ve heard a lot about the classic film and some of the older sequels, but not a lot about Rob Zombie’s films in which he attempted to retell the iconic killer’s story. The film, while polarizing, was commercially successful but died off after two installments.

Why wasn’t Zombie’s Halloween 3 ever made? According to producer Malek Akkad (via Comicbook.com), that was never on the table.

That’s where the Rob Zombie film comes. I know Rob Zombie’s films, like every single one of these films, they’ve got their die hard fans and their detractors. That’s one of the beauties of horror films is that people just love to debate and talk about them and discuss them. We did the Rob Zombie era if you will. We did two films with Rob which we didn’t really know we were going to do two. We never considered doing three. So after two of those, I didn’t really see any other director continuing in Rob’s voice a part three and using those characters that he had set up.

Akkad makes it sound as though Zombie was not on board to do a third film, and without his iconic style, there was little way to keep things going. Whether that was a good or bad thing I’ll leave you to debate in the comments.

Personally, I’ve never felt one way or the other about Rob Zombie’s Halloween films. Honestly, I even forget they exist!
