Robert De Niro Goes To War with His Grandkids in Trailer For THE WAR WITH GRANDPA with Christopher Walken
Want to watch a bunch of old farts go to war with a bunch of snotty young teens? Well, in the upcoming film, The War with Grandpa, you’ll get to see Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, and Cheech Marin do just that.
101 Studios and Brookdale Studios released the first trailer for the family comedy, which is based on Robert Kimmel Smith’s book. The story focuses on a boy who is “forced to move out of his room when his recently widowed grandfather (De Niro) moves in. With the help of his friends, the boy devises outrageous pranks to make his grandfather surrender the room, but he turns out to be tougher than expected and all-out war ensues.”
The movie looks silly yet fun as we see the two sides prank each other. In all honesty, it looks like the grandkid is going all out and trying to kill his grandpa!
This is actually only the third film that De Niro and Walken have appeared in together. The first was the 1978 film Deer Hunter, and the second was the 1992 film, Mistress. I’m surprised that they haven’t done more films together! I’ll watch this one just to see the two on the big screen together again.
The movie also stars Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Laura Marano, and Jane Seymour. The film will be released in theaters on October 9th.
